About
Boston-born, Sacramento-based, with my heart forever in Brooklyn. Stints in San Francisco, Jakarta, and Saigon along the way.
My creative approach draws upon my traditional publishing background, digital brand experience, and creative personal pursuits (which may or may not include writing a racy romance novel under a pen name). I seek to find the compelling story in every project, but I'm most excited by mental and physical health, food and drink, literature, and the forces that drive human relationships.
I'm flexible but deadline-focused, research-driven but playful, confident but eager for feedback, fun to work with but serious about quality. I'm open to any and all projects that could use content or copy help, and would love to sit down over some third-wave coffee or a not-overly-hopped IPA to chat with you about your needs.
To round out this bio, let me just say that I’ve won a crossword puzzle competition, I don't understand why there's even a debate about the Oxford comma, and I once ate a whole muffin in one bite (well sort of; that's a story for a different time).

Having worked in the editorial departments of both San Francisco magazine and Chronicle Books, I bring the rigorous language standards of traditional publishing to every piece I edit. Copywriting
I have a wide range of copywriting experience, from brand identity to thought leadership to white papers to ghost-written books and beyond (I also published a romance novel under a pen name). I excel at using language precisely to capture a specific voice and engage a particular audience, and believe that a one-sentence tagline deserves no less attention than a 5,000-word article.
I am available for the following types of writing:
Blog posts
Thought leadership pieces
Brand identity language
Researched articles & white papers

Translation
I'm fluent in French and adore translation. I believe in the complexity and nuance of transforming one language into another, and give each sentence the attention it deserves to retain its original essence. I've previously translated two books from French to English: The Memory of an Elephant (nominated for an ALA translation award) and What's the Difference.
I'm available for French to English translation of any type.
